Chiquinquira Delgado Launching Clothing Line

I have some great news about the former Despierta America host, Chiquinquira Delgado. Check out this post for more details…

Chiquinquira Delgado Cameos

By YogaFrogCapsAfter she left Despierta America, we were all wondering what she would do next. Sure, she finished off her hosting duties on Mira Quién Baila. But after the season ended, we asked ourselves the same question.

Then she randomly guest hosted on Sabado Gigante. This sent the rumor mill going crazy with thoughts of her taking over the show. But nothing ever materialized from that.

I knew for a fact that she was still with Univision in some fashion. She attended this years Premio Lo Nuestro event. Chiqui also made a cameo in the Univision Gracias Promo.

Chiquinquira Delgado Returns!

By YogaFrogCapsAs you know from my last Chiquinquira Delgado post, I was pretty upset at her departure from the show. Even though I was sad to see her go, I had a great time creating screen captures of her. My archive is definitely proof of that.

Well, now we know what she has really been up to! Chiquinquira Delgado is in the process of launching her own clothing line! Woah, I didn’t see that coming…

Chiqui Delgado Brand Imminent

Photo of Chiquinquira Delgado | Chiquinquira Delgado Launching Clothing Line Chiqui Delgado Brand | 5/23/2013 (3 of 9). By YogaFrogCapsThe name of her clothing line is called Chiqui Delgado. Check out her press release for more specifics. I encourage you to view the Chiqui Delgado Brand website for details on the clothes.

Oh and don’t even come with that “I can’t read Spanish” excuse, because its in English. So definitely check it out.

I thought it was a great idea to use Chiqui Delgado as the official name. Her name is just so unique and stands well on its own. I’m glad they didn’t try to come up with something else.

Despierta America Reveals The News

I learned about this news from the 5/23/2013 airing of Despierta America. They aired a short segment and interview about it.

These screen captures came out pretty good. It felt damn good to create some new content of her once again! After you check out my screen captures, you can view the video here.

My Thoughts On Her Clothing Line

Photo of Chiquinquira Delgado | Chiquinquira Delgado Launching Clothing Line Chiqui Delgado Brand | 5/23/2013 (6 of 9). By YogaFrogCapsHey, why not? Its insanely obvious that this woman is seriously into fashion. Just take a look through my Chiquinquira Delgado Archive for proof.

Since Univision seems to be in support of this venture, this can only be good. This means she will get to display her new gear off on some of the shows and events. So to me, its a win win.

I definitely wish her the best of luck with this new business venture. Jackie Guerrido and her Jackie Jeans better watch out! Chiqui is bringing out her Chiqui Delgado Brand! Competition is a good thing right?

So what do you guys think about this? Let me know by leaving a comment below.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my latest post.

    Nice post.

I think this is a great idea as well.

To be honest, when Chiqui left Despierta America, I was a little worried about where exactly she would go. She’s a good TV host when she’s part of a large ensemble group – it’s unfortunate that they’re almost kind of “bad” traits for her field, but she seems a little too lighthearted and full of humor to develop into a strong lead anchor for either a news program or a reporting show. I’m not sure if you saw her brief stint on Entertainment Tonight, where she interviewed the cast of “Modern Family,” but it was kind of rough to watch.

That being said, it’s nice to see her bounce back into something like this, where she can show her creativity and flashy persona, and in this case, her personality probably benefits her well in her clothing designs. If she can do this, as well as some special event TV hosting, she should be around for a long time.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that her website is spectacular, and her first release clothing designs are really awesome. Her dresses are a very nice mix of “class” and “club” style. They’re definitely the kinds of dresses that a fashionable woman in a city like New York or Miami could wear to the office during the day, and to a lounge for drinks at night. I also like how she named her pieces after different major cities – neat touch.

I wish the absolute best of luck to her in this, although I doubt she’ll need it!

Hi Hybridneo. Thanks for taking the time to check out this post. Glad you enjoyed it. This is the first time I have seen you post a comment…welcome.

Yes, I saw Chiqui’s ET cameo. I posted about it (link in this post). You should definitely check out my archive.

I don’t think judging her abilities based on her performance on ET is really fair. Mainly because it was her first time doing an English interview and interviewing big time Hollywood celebs. It must of been a pretty nerve racking experience…even for her.

It was totally obvious that she was just nervous.

I see what your saying. Just not sure I fully agree with you. I don’t think Chiqui’s goal was to ever become an anchor. Looking back at her past, she came on the scene through winning a beauty pageant and modeling. Then from there she went into acting.

Every time I have seen her perform solo, she seemed fine. Don’t forget the VIP segment on DA. To me she seems really versatile. If given the opportunity, I’m sure she would shine.

Indeed. I agree…the designs do look very nice. I’m looking forward to seeing her more in the future.

      Take it easy…

Nah, actually not the first time I’ve posted….I’ve been posting here for forever under my name, “Jeremy,” but when I logged in today to respond to this entry, Disqus had somehow lost my entire profile, so I had to create a new one. I just forgot to sign off with “Jeremy” at the end – my bad!

Regarding the ET debut – in review, I can definitely see your point. She was clearly nervous, and that shouldn’t be held against her. However, unfortunately in Hollywood, those sorts of rocky starts can really hurt a career. I also saw a lot of people online expressing surprise that she struggled as much with speaking English as she did. I don’t really blame her for that, because that’s an area where I’m sure her nerves really hurt her, but if she was that anxious, and her English was that fragile, ET probably shouldn’t have sent her to do that assignment. But of course, it’s not ET that gets the blame – it’s her for not being ready for the next step. It’s unfair, but that’s the system I suppose.

Good point on her roots coming from a modeling past – I had completely forgotten about that aspect of her career…she turned into such a fixture on DA and other Univision shows that I guess I hastily overlooked it (I also have stars in my eyes after seeing Pamela Silva absolutely kill it in a blue dress today on Primer Impacto, so that distraction didn’t help).

Considering her career origins, she has definitely come a long way in the TV industry.

It’s just that to me, if you’re going to leave an established ensemble show like DA to branch out on your own, you better be absolutely ready to take that next leap as a presenter, and whether it was nerves, or an unfair assignment from her new job, or both, that turn on ET didn’t exactly pan out. Although hopefully she gets another shot soon – I don’t know why they didn’t just send her to a movie premiere red carpet or some event like the MTV Awards…anything easier than interviewing the entire cast of one of the biggest sitcoms on TV today.

        - Jeremy

Oh…what’s up Jeremy? Good to hear from you again man.

Sorry about the issues with Disqus. Your not the first to state problems with it. I’m currently testing a new commenting system. I will be implementing it sometime soon.

True…you make good points. The whole thing just didn’t seem right. Like she was pressured into doing it. At first they hyped her cameo up. Then it didn’t air when they said it was going to. I think something happened. Maybe she realized that they were trying to throw her to the sharks and tried to back out.

I personally just didn’t see the point in her doing it. She is already well-known. Plus its a fact that Univision shows get more viewers. Was it an attempt to gain English speaking fans? Was she really trying to “get into Hollywood circles”? I don’t know man…it was just weird.

Why take this much of a risk? Its not like people aren’t knocking down her door to do things.

One thing is certain. Who ever told her it was a good idea to do it…should be kicked in the shins.

I would love to see her focus the majority of her time into this clothing line.

Haha..oh so you saw Pam today as well. Yeah…I’m gonna try to work my magic with some screen captures at some point…
